Monolith Furniture
Art and creative direction
AI Artwork
2024
This work consolidates as a speculative collection of home furniture, based on the historical significance of artificial monoliths, which represent sacred monuments in ancient civilizations. In this way, this symbolic and architectural value is recovered to be aesthetically juxtaposed with the brutalist architectural movement, which in some way represents important moments of modern civilization. Thus, hypotheses are created about possible sacred objects that serve as human vestiges in a scenario where modern civilization does not exist, evoking the dwelling of the body and its customs from a somber perspective.

This work was executed using AI tools.

MAPPA
Editorial Design
2024
This editorial piece was created using generative code, which speculatively explores the possible cartographies of Atlantis. This project abstracts from Plato’s dialogues Critias and Timaeus, texts that contain references and allusions to this mythical island. The work is characterized by a visual, spatial, and typographic interpretation of computational exercises that simulate hypothetical coordinates of specific locations. Based on these data, MAPPA generates kinetic topographies, that is, moving graphical representations that articulate and evolve in interaction with textual fragments in Ancient Greek. This approach allows for an innovative dialogue between modern visualizations and classical literature, creating a bridge between philosophical speculation and artistic representation.

Un placer incierto | Uncertain Pleasure Editorial Design
2022 - 2023
An Uncertain Pleasure is an exhibition that focuses on multimedia and time-based artworks from the Pierre Huber Collection. The title of the exhibition is taken from the eponymous work by Zhang Peili, a pioneer of video art in China, and pays homage to the global, cultural and geographically multifaceted perspectives addressed in the collection, which is unique in its heterogeneity.

The editorial design of this catalog embraces the premise of the visual identity of the exhibition, where new media, as an artistic canvas, allows for an endless array of visual imaginaries. In this way, chroma green becomes a metaphor for new worlds and acts as a guiding thread within the narrative of this editorial piece. The content of the book was organized alphabetically, alluding to old telephone directories, as a nod to the beginnings of the digital era.

For dust you are and data you shall become Art and creative direction
Performance
2016 - 2018
This work explores the idolatry of the human body in the digital age. These exercises start from the iconography of the shroud to investigate the cult of the human image. Thus, a series of actions arise where the relief of a body is extracted by rubbing it with graphite on fragments of cloth, referencing the phrase: "dust you are and to dust you shall return" to speak of life and death. These samples allowed the digitization of the body through 3D modeling. The result simulates the quest for immortality through a digital vestige.

3D Website
2020
3D World developed for Otrusextraviadus.

The conceptualization of this project stems from the interpretation of a pseudonym based on the social iconography that represents the balaclava and its political stigma. The world portrays chaos, destruction, and identity.

UNTERBOG Audiovisual Production
2016 - 2018
Development of visual concepts for the creation of promotional audiovisual content and production of artistic installations for electronic music events

For each event, a concept was created around the aesthetics and visual identity of Unterbog. Some of these concepts involved spatial speculations about unknown territories, where the absence of light led the audience to discover new sensory experiences.

Anatomía de un martir | Anatomy of a Martyr Art and creative direction
Body Artifacts
2023
Gestural Reflections on Bodily Archetypes of a Martyr.

This work examines and reinterprets the concept of a martyr, traditionally someone who dies for their religion, by focusing on the Colombian "ñero" or "gamín." It portrays these individuals as societal victims and street hostages who deform their bodies due to persecution and control. The piece suggests that gang members are modern martyrs within a socio-political context where authority abuse is evident in their captured gestures.

3D Simulations
2023
This project takes as its starting point the controversial digital market of 3D pornography, where the human image becomes a sexual commodity that completely disconnects its existence from any personal identity, while also distorting its anatomy to unreal extremes. In this context, the notion of the human is rethought through a visual metaphor. To achieve this, body scanning technology is used to generate three-dimensional models that are deliberately "damaged" through analog manipulation of their data. This process aims to represent and compare the loss of human value in the technological age.

Audiovisual production
2016 - 2017
This video piece, based on the eleventh chapter of James Joyce's book Ulysses, titled The Sirens, aims to establish a relationship with Joyce's narrative deconstruction through fragmentation and repetition, constructing a space that plays with the perception of time to reflect the complexity of the human experience.

The visual creation through stop motion seeks to emulate the obstruction and subjugation of space-time in the human being, represented as an object. In this way, irony and a nod to images with hints of Body Horror allow for the development of an entire visual and aesthetic identity that responds to the concept of this text, converging into an auditory and visual experience that stimulates bizarre feelings.

Visual identity
2021
Live-art is a general term used to describe live actions based on a variety of disciplines and discourses involving the body, time, and space. This medium can be considered both a direct descendant of performance art and a hybrid of various languages. This dialogue has allowed for new practices of live-art that are not limited to traditional or conventional ones. The graphic development of this exhibition, which collects 21 works of art where the human body becomes an aesthetic instrument, refers to CAPTCHA codes, which are used as security measures to authenticate human existence and differentiate it from other types of computer or mechanical intelligence.

AOS Artwork for Junn
@edicionesdanzanegra
2020
In 9 tracks, Junn synthesizes (ha!) a sound that conjures up images of a cold and labyrinthine Bogotá, ambiguous rhythms that march statically, and textures that pulsate anxiously seeking each other without finding each other. AOS feels like a long-drowned scream, an inward search that finally finds air to navigate. The cassette includes revisions by two compatriots, Juanpablo and Lunate (the latter almost entirely responsible for the 3 years delay), who join Junn and the chorus of many who translate their journey through the continent into audio.

Confluencias I / IIBogota Museum of Modern Art - MAMBO
Visual identity
2021
Development of the visual identity for the first and second exhibition cycles of the Museum of Modern Art of Bogotá - MAMBO. This series of exhibitions entails the convergence of different forms, genres, media, formats, and heterogeneous styles in art. In this way, the idea that culture cannot exist without confluence is resumed. The mixture of different peoples, with diverse languages, customs, and ethnicities, produces what is understood as culture. Taking the above premise, the graphic development stems from the interpretation of mathematical concepts rooted in sets, where union, intersection, difference, and complement define new forms of collective unity among different elements, thus recreating a metaphor between geometric shapes that allude to such cultural convergence.
