Audiovisual production
2016 This audiovisual piece, in the form of a video essay, recreates a dialogue between archival footage of American soldiers during the Vietnam War conflict between the years 1955 and 1975, and clips from a body association exercise where posture and gesture allude to mental states as symbols. In this way, a metaphorical discourse is constructed about the "thousand-yard stare" or the "downcast gaze", exploring the relationship between the physical environment, the past, the body, and consciousness.
